The Lochaber Community Partnership is one of ten local partnerships which have been established geographically across Highland to ensure that community planning can be delivered successfully at a local level. The partnership is aware of the challenges that COVID has brought to the area and they are working together to provide support to all those affected by the pandemic.
We promise to actively listen to the community, to identify the local challenges as expressed by them and commit to taking action that will reduce disadvantage and inequality. We will use our combined resources creatively to produce solutions that are meaningful and valued by the community we serve.
The Lochaber Community Partnership is made up of 5 core agencies. These agencies are:-
The Highland Council
Police Scotland
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
Highlands and Islands Enterprise
NHS Highland
Highlife Highland and the Highland Third Sector Interface represented by Voluntary Action Lochaber also play an important role in the partnership to achieve the following:
Promoting equality, meeting diverse needs of people and communities
Building resilient places and communities
Supporting wellbeing and health.
Lochaber Community Partnership is set up to provide a forum within the local area where partner agencies and the community can come together to plan and take forward the needs of the local community.
Lochaber Partnership have been tasked with developing Locality Plans for 3 areas.
Kinlochleven
Caol
Fort William (upper) including Claggan
These areas have been identified as areas highest on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation within Lochaber. The partnership is also The development of Children’s Plans is currently being undertaken with Police Scotland leading in developing the plan. The partnership is also looking to develop an Adults Plan for Lochaber (NHS).

As a Partnership we are in the process of gathering initial views and opinions from lot of different people about what they feel is good or what could be better about where they live and the services they receive. We would like to make sure you can get involved so we have multiple things happening but if you aren't able to make it along to an event, conversation or to complete the online survey please get in touch to tell us what you need and we will try to meet those needs if at all possible.
Equally if you are part of a community group or organisation and you would like someone from the Partnership to come and speak with your group please let us know and we shall do what we can.
